5 years ago I had back surgery to help prevent injury to my spinal cord due to a past problem that I have. The surgery was also supposed to relieve pain caused by this problem . Unfortunately, none of the pain was relieved; In fact, it got a lot worse.
I tried physical therapy along with back strengthening exercise but nothing seemed to help. I was missing work and school, losing sleep and my social life was quickly disappearing. I began to see a chiropractor and he was able to give me some relief but I could not afford to go to him once a week for the rest of my life.
Finally I decided to try acupuncture, on the advice of my mother - a physical therapist. Within 3 treatment, my pain was significantly diminished. After 5 treatments the pain was gone. My last treatment was in December 2003 and I have not been back for pain since.

I've been seeing Dr. Kim for about two years, starting with a case of stomach flu or food poisoning. Although I was miserable vomiting and diarrhea when I walked into her office an hour later the most severe cramps and nausea were completely gone. Two days and one treatment later was fine.
That same summer, I asked her to work on a chronic urinary problem, one either too subtle or too peculiar for Western medicine. Though not a dangerous condition, it was nevertheless irritating and inconvenient. Dr. Kim took the symptoms seriously and after a series of treatments I was and am more then satisfied with the results.
I've also had good luck with Dr. Kim's acupuncture when it comes to colds and the flu. Her treatments , and sometimes , herbal remedies, always work to avoid the worst (cases) to shorten my recovery time and to make me more comfortable.
Dr. Kim is a real pleasure to work with; she's honest, sincere, and truly interested in the health and well-being of her patients.

I will never forget that morning in early July when I arrived at the doorstep of Dr. Jean Kim. I was desperate. I was in pain. Modern medicine had just dismissed me and told me there was nothing more that they could do for me.
I had suffered a Brachial Plexuses injury to my right arm from a car accident, which meant that nerves had been torn from the spinal cord, which left my left arm partially paralyzed. My fingers would never move again.
The previous three years had been spent in hospitals undergoing seven corrective surgeries. There was nothing the doctors could do to correct the intensive pain except to give me massive doses of pain killers. My hand was frozen inward giving it the shape of a claw. I had survived but was left with serious problems. After 2 weeks of continuous acupuncture treatment with Dr. Kim, she had managed to restore feeling to portions of my arm. The acupuncture had restored normal shape to my arm for the first time since the accident, my fingers were actually extended. But the miracle occurred when she took me off my pain medication and managed to reduce the pain to negligible proportions.
If anyone had told me that these gains would have been made, I would have questioned them with a great deal of skepticism. But it did happen and I was it happen.
Go for it! Dr. Kim will work very hard and use every bit of her professional knowledge. There is no alternative when there are no more answers. She will do for you what she did for me.
